This class was originally designed through the collaboration of coaches and team gymnasts as a way to have fun with exercise and training in our sport.  We built our first obstacle course and had our high level boys' and girls' team run through it.  We planned on spending abot 10 minutes on the obstacle course, but the team kids begged us to make a day out of it.  It was a blast for the kids and coaches alike.

Program Overview

The Ninja Program is a dynamic, obstacle-based fitness class designed for children ages 5–12, combining gymnastics skills, parkour-inspired movements, and ninja-themed challenges. The program aims to develop strength, agility, coordination, and confidence while fostering teamwork and perseverance in a fun, engaging environment. Classes utilize the gym’s existing equipment (e.g., mats, beams, bars, vaults, and foam pits) to create ninja-style obstacle courses and skill stations.

Program Goals

• Physical Development: Build strength, agility, balance, and coordination through ninja-themed exercises and obstacle courses.

• Mental Growth: Encourage problem-solving, resilience, and confidence through challenging tasks.

• Social Skills: Promote teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship through group activities.

• Fun and Engagement: Create an exciting, ninja-themed experience that keeps participants motivated.

Class Structure

• Duration: 60 minutes per class, offered 1–2 times per week.

• Age Groups:

  • Beginner (Ages 5–8): Focus on foundational skills, basic obstacles, and coordination.

  • Intermediate (Ages 6–12): Introduce advanced techniques, complex courses, and teamwork challenges.

• Class Size: 8–12 participants for personalized coaching and safety.

• Progression: Participants advance through skill levels (e.g., White Band, Yellow Band, Black Band) based on mastery of techniques and obstacle completion.
